Head Coach
– Zachary M. Mekker
Zac Mekker is a long time member of the Liverpool Swimming and Diving Family. He has been involved with the Liverpool Jets Swim Club and the Scholastic teams for 18 years! After graduating Liverpool High School in 1994, he attended undergraduate studies at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and then at the University at Buffalo. At RPI, Zac was a seven-time conference champion, Rookie of the Year, school record holder, team captain, and was inducted into Olympia – Rensselaer’s Athletic Honor Society. After his Junior year at RPI, he transferred to the Division I program at the University at Buffalo. At UB, Zac was a team captain, a Senior National Qualifier, and was inducted into the Golden Key National Honor Society and the National Dean’s List. He also played on the UB men’s volleyball team which finished 9th out of 128 teams at Nationals!
Coach Zac received his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and his secondary teaching certification. He is currently coaching the Liverpool Scholastic Modified Team and is pursuing his Masters in Mathematics Education at Syracuse University. Zac plans on continuing with coaching and hopes to eventually get a secondary teaching position in the district.
Assistant Coach
– William Wallace
Bill Wallace is a graduate of the State University of New York at Cortland. He is currently employed as a adapted physical education teacher by the Liverpool Central School District. Aside from working with the Liverpool Jets Swim Club in the past, Bill has also coached the Varsity Boys Swimming and Diving Team at Watertown High School. He then spent time coaching the Varsity Boys and the Modified Teams for the Liverpool Central School District. Coach Wallace brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, and fun to our program.
